The Lakeside Home was SickKids Hospital's summer home on Toronto Island from 1883 to 1927. In May, 1898, Georgie and his pals were paraded down Yonge St. from the hospital on College St. to Toronto's waterfront in horse and carriage (see photos below). They were then ferried across the bay, and spent months healing and enjoying fresh air, sunlight and activity on the Island.
